http://www.ajf.gr.jp/english/what_is_ajf_english.html Africa-Japan Forum is an 8-year-old network group founded as a follow up to "NGO Forum Africa Now", a NGO symposium on African Development, which was held in Tokyo on the 2nd and 3rd October 1993, prior to the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD). The idea of this was born from People's statement which was presented to the participants of the TICAD. Past activities include: 1994-95 Research on South Africa, Symposium on the Desertification 1996 Research and Symposium:Women's Cooperative (Zimbabwe) & Food security and Environment (Senegal and Ethiopia), 1997 Training programme on natural resource management/research (Senegal and Chad), 1997-98 Participation in the TICAD II Process, 1999-2000 Organizational reform, 2001- Research groups set-up (on HIV/AIDS issues and Food security) & Particpation in the Process of TICAD3 Ministerial Meeting (December 2001 at Tokyo).

http://www.ciranda.net Ciranda is visualised as an international independent form of information exchange, a copyleft exchange among alternative press publications and journalists (reporters, broadcasters, photographers) worldwide which enables publications the right to freely publish each other's work, provided the source and the authors are acknowledged. To build another world, we need to make another media possible-- a media that is not subjugated by the interests of corporate controlled media and one that operates outside the realm of market and financial considerations. World Social Forum (WSF) formed Ciranda.
