Is it not time for the powers that be to remove Jody Kollapen from the leadership of the South African Human Rights Commission? He has shown time and time again his biased judgement on several issues just before general elections. This time its no different. National elections are upon us next year and Kollapen has started campaigning for the opposition through his pronouncements on Black leaders' statements.

In 2005 he was used by the Cape Times editor Chris Whitfield to do the Democratic Alliance election strategy a favour.

This was just before the 2006 local government elections when he pronounced on an article on this site without even seeing it.

He came up with some justification which was infantile. This man has now been used continuously to destroy or try to destroy the livelihoods of Black Africans on the pretext that he was making a pronouncement linked to the violation of human rights. He has time and time again shown his rightwing streak.

The ANC secretary-general, Gwede Mantashe has correctly seen through him. So have the ANC Youth League.

When its issues about coloured movements he selectively ignores their formation and when it concerns Black people making pronouncements on other races he jumps like the devil is after him.

He is dividing the nation on racial grounds with his ill-considered perspectives where he expects applause from right wing proponents for going after the genuinely aggrieved.

Examine his track record and decide for yourselves whether this man is suited for the role of dispensing sensitive pronouncements on race related issues.

Isn't it time that some people with power take him to task for his negative role in racial politics?

He cannot be allowed to wield such power which he subsequently abuses to serve sectarian interests supposedly in the interests of upholding the constitution.

We have included some articles which relate to Kollapen's lack of judgement for your own information.

These are articles about his 2005 Democratic Alliance partnership in which ably responded to the Democratic Alliance call to the media and public lynching of this writer thus giving Helen Zille the City of Cape Town.
