Harare Court Postpones votes challenge by MDC

Harare - A Zimbabwean judge has postponed until later on Sunday his hearing of an opposition application for presidential elections results to be released immediately, an opposition lawyer said.

"The judge said he wants more time to look at the papers," Movement for Democratic Change lawyer Andrew Makoni told Reuters. The hearing has been delayed for two hours from the originally scheduled time of noon (10:00 GMT).

The MDC wants the high court to order the electoral commission to release results from the March 29 vote. A long delay has roused opposition suspicions that President Robert Mugabe is buying time to organise a fightback.
